Airbox Lid Mods?

I noticed that it revved quicker from down low but not much different on top end. I'm thinking I need to raise the needle a notch and drop to a 128 main, ugh pulling the carb out is such a pain. At least I can get the needle just by taking off the tank.

Yep my air box lid is in the same box with the stock skid plate, blinkers, chain, sprockets, hand guards, mirrors, pipe, plate holder, chain guard and whatever else I forgot.

I see different from you folk for taking the cover off.. I took mine off for a quick ride down the road, and asside from it sounding like it was sucked out, and just blahhhh... It seemed to loose it's throttle response. Terribly! I hated it, I came right home and put it back on. Not only that.. But I also go offroad, and actually go through some puddles once in a while.. Actually most rides I go on I end up splashing through a puddle 2 or 3 feet deep... Not good with no cover on. At least the cover holds out some water...
Even though it dosn't matter because I hated the lid taken off. I like my KDX snorkle

I rode a long time with the KDX snorkel and there was an improvement without any snorkel. And now with a larger hole in the lid its even better. But with the lid completely off it ran quite poorly.

so just putting on a kdx snorkel is better then the stock one? no pipe or jet kit needed? i'm think i'm mechanically retarded sometimes. I'd like to do a few mods to my bike for a few extra ponys.... so far it sounds like i want to do the crank case, the 13tooth sprocket, kdx snorkel..... do i have to re jet to do that? i'm at about 50ft above sea level..... thanks
