Ohhh...so can I use kerosene? That's what I use to clean the chain and engine before a wash.
I don't mind putting oil on the filter. I hate washing it.

Dawn soap wont touch my air filter oil(kawasaki brand). the cleaner in the spray cans wont touch it ether. ive always used nitro fuel to clean it. the nitro fuel actually expands the foam letting more dirt escape. then wash with dish soap and it shrinks back to normal. only one problem though, the fuel is 25$ a gallon I run nitro cars so i always have some handy

Wash the dirty filter in gasoline. Don't smoke while you're doing it. The filter is not affected by gasoline. Gasoline will dry fairly quickly so as not to dilute your filter oil.

I'm not a tree hugger, I use the gasoline since it works great and is cheap and easy. Then dispose of the muddy gasoline in a safe manner. I never understood why people use soap and other special chemicals to simply remove oil and dirt from a filter. What better product than a highly volatile solvent?

One more thing about commercial foam filter oil is that I let it set overnight before running the bike. Theory is that the foam oil needs to evaporate a little bit and set up, get tacky. So it takes a couple of days. Wash in gas, let gas dry very well, oil and isntall, let oil dry. Then run it.

My biggest problem is that the KLX filter is very large and the air filter box is very small. I don't like abusing the filter when installing and you can't really see if it's on right. Just try my best.

No Toil works great. Just mix the cleaner with some water and you wouldn't believe the crud that comes out. I wash mine out in the kitchen sink.

Then just re oil like usual using their oil. Gotta stick with their oil and cleaner once you start though----their stuff is not compatible with other oils they say. The oil is really tacky. I run it on both of my dual sports.

I use oxy clean on my notoil filters. You can actually put them in the laundry, and they come out clean.

Chainsaw chain oil works, as well as just about any motor oil, especially if you're street riding.

+1 for oxy clean to clean the no toil oil. I don't actually launder them , just a bucket and some oxy.
