Hey man, I use some stuff I bought at the bike shop. One is a cleaner and one is the tacky oil spray. I have to say that the cleaner is simply amazing.

When i clean my uni, I pour a little gasoline in the bottom of a bucket, roll the filter in it, and then dry it off. It cleans it really well. Then i use the same PJ1 filter oil deej has picted above to re-oil it.

Check out part washers at Northertool.com You can pick up a small 10 gallon for about 70.00 bucks. It has a small pump that generates clean solvent through a filter. Will save you money in the long run if your constantly cleaning parts.....deej

haven't had to clean my air filter yet either, just got the bike 10/01, haven't been in much dust or mud yet, but i still have the twin-air cleaning kit from my old kx. it has two buckets, one is a smaller bucket you fill with twin-air cleaner and it has a tray to keep the filter off the bottom with the dirt. lightly wring out the filter, and dip it in the second larger bucket filled with twin-air filter oil. again, lightly wring out the excess oil and you're good to go. filter cleaning was such a "p.i.t.a." for me i always thought it would be a great idea to invent a pre-oiled disposable filter, and now that i'm back on a dirtbike i see a company called ready racing has just that. i'll do a search and see if one is available for our bike.

Petrol is not good for the airfilter - over time it makes it degenerate. Apart from labelled cleansers from a bikeshop use Mineral Turpentine otherwise known as Turps. It is not as harsh as petrol. Dont forget to wash the filter in warm water afterwards - do not wring out, but rather 'scrunch' with a dry cloth to get the excess water out.

When i bought my unifilter it came with a 'waterbased' clenaser - i havent tried it yet.
