I was wondering is it better get a snorkle from a KDX 220 and if so what years.Or I see that some people just take the air box lid off all together. What are the pros and cons.

Take it off. I have the KDX snorkel as well as 5 1inch vents drilled into the lid, but it ran way better with it off.

Pro: more air flow (make sure you're jetted proper)
Con: You'll have to clean your air filter more often

I had the KDX snorkel for awhile. Better than the KLX piece but just take off the entire lid & rejet.

FYI - I found it to be deafeningly loud when I took the whole lid off. Instead I just cut a very large hole in the top and it's a good balance between airflow and noise.

Yep my air box lid is sitting up on a shelf along with my stock exhaust, blinkers, and chain and sprockets. Oh and that ugly plate holder is in there as well.

True it is loud with it off, but it runs so much better IMO. You could also just take the snorkel right out and put holes in the lid. someone else did that here can't remember who. Just keeps the noise down.

Ive got the same box as deej full of: luggage rack, rear fender, chain guard, sprockets, emission control gadget, chain and the lid. Thing weighs quite a bit
