Default AHL KLX300 kit reliability?

So I have a 2009 KLX250S that I am rebuilding and saw this kit, I was also looking at the 351 kit but with the money I save going with AHL would buy a lot of parts. Tell me your story with the AHL kit!

I put a 331 big bore kit on mine. It's not a AHL or a Big Bill. I'd have to go back and find out where I got mine from, as it was about 7 years ago. I will say that I've had zero problems with my 331 and have ridden many thousands of miles including Big Bend and various parts of AZ.

I did a google search on AHL and found this video. The dude who posted it said anyone could contact him with questions.

Good Luck

I believe Kustom Kraft does the 331 kit. They bore it out and replate it. The Bill Blue 351 kit has a press in iron liner. I installed the AHL 299 kit. Used supplied piston, rings and gaskets, no issues whatsoever. I've only got a couple hundred miles on it though.

AHL is a kind of weird in that it is actually sourced and sold by Tongtong (or Tong Tong) Trade company. They sell in large lots, the kit is only $49 plus shipping, but you have to buy a minimum of 50 sets. Obviously someone did and are selling on Amazon. I am fairly certain there is a company that did the 300 in a motorcycle, but don't know which one. They can kick out any level of quality a buyer wants in China. Don't believe it's junk because it is Chinese.

Now you went and did it. You made be go look it up. I knew it wasn't a Kustom Kraft , so I went back through my emails and found where I got the kit from. It was Cycle Pro LLC from out of New Jersey. Their web address is cycleproracing.net. Scanning the emails shook a few brain cells loose and I actually made contact, or I should say he reached out to me, on this site in a thread about big bore kits.

Bill Blue -- I thought it was Big Bill -- I haven't kept up on his kits, but I believe his started out 300, then a 331 before jumping up to the 351. Is that still the deal?

Cool, I'd not heard of Cycle Pro... Here is another that does the 331cc kit. https://www.kustom-kraft.com/big-bore-kits

This isn't getting any better. Now I've gone back and found the thread where I got Cycle Pros info. Going through the posts, I saw where Blue Bill even had a 340.
In case you're interested here's that thread from 2012.

While still on topic of big bore kits, I still feel like I've hijacked this thread. Sure hope the OP is getting something out of this.
