Default Aftermarket hanldebars?

I ran a search but didn't find much. I'm looking for a set of taller bars for my SF. I'd like to be able to stand up on the pegs without being hunched over and at 6'2" the stock bars just aren't doing it. I'd prefer new bars with a higher bend over bar risers because since just about everything else on the bike is black I'd like the bars to be as well.

Any suggestions? Also, does anyone know the dimensions of our bars off hand?

One other thing, and this is going to make me look like an idiot, but what the hell, I tried removing the bolts that hold the seat on so I could remove that ridiculous strap and none of my metric sockets would turn the bolts. I used the one that seemed to fit (grabbed the bolt when I was sizing by hand) but when I attached it to a wrench and went to turn it it just slipped around the bolt. Any help would be appreciated.

I am still running stock bars, but I hear you- I often want a higher bar.

Based on everything I have read on this forum, the replacements are going to be Renthal Jimmy Button style. I am only 6', though- Not sure if another bend would be better for a taller rider.

Another thing to note, just in case you haven't seen it, is that you will have to grind off some nubs on the inside of the factory controls. You will see what it's all about when removing the stock bar- there are little indents on the bar that the nubs on the controls align with. Since there are no nubs on the aftermarket bar, you need to get out a file.

Had the Renthal "JB" bend. Bent them. Now got the Renthal 809 RC High Bend to replace them (they were on special, 50% off.) They are both pretty much the same geometry as stock only taller and a tad less sweep (straighter.) I'm 6'0 and can stand comfortably on the trails.
You may want to look at some 7/8" bar risers.
Renthal bars are available in many colours including black.

Seat bolts are 8mm, as are the side panels and rad' shrouds.

I like the KX High Bend by Pro-Taper. Nice bar, plenty high, but the stock clutch cable is stretched to the max.

My Ninja 650r has the same control housings and instead of grinding down the nubs I just drilled some holes in the new bars. Also, it's a lot easier, on the throttle side, to just loosen the control housing enough so that the bar will slide out instead of taking it completely apart.

Thanks for the advice. It looks like it's going to be the Renthal Jimmy Button's. The fact that they have less sweep is something I think I'll like too.

I'm running the ProTaper bars. Love them to death. Don't forget that the adapters to run oversized bars will rise the bars 3/4s of an inch in addition to whatever increase in height you go with.

I'm slightly confused by this. I'm just looking for a set of bars that are the same size (7/8") but with a higher bend. I don't see why I would need an adapter for that. Are you talking about bars that are bigger than 7/8"?

He's talkin' about oversize bars. They cost more and require an adapter/riser for the stock KLX top clamp. Because they're larger they negate the need for a cross brace. Your choice.
