Aftermarket Gear Shifter

Aftermarket Gear Shifter
Anyone purchased an aftermarket gear shifter? I wear a size 10 boots and there is not enough room between the gear shifter and my boots to allow any movement of my foot without shifting into another gear as well as downshifting. I contacted Rocky Mountain ATV and they had nothing for the KLX. Anyone had the same experience or found an aftermarket shifter that allows more room?

I'll probably be moving mine down one notch because I have to raise my foot slightly off the peg to upshift.
I don't think the Moose lever will fit. RideGear.com erroneously lists a 'Moose folding steel lever' for 'KLX250 94-06' while the Moose racing website lists the same lever as 'KLX250 94-96,' which makes more sense becausethey use theexact same part number for the KLX300.

I think Moose makes one that fits, I wear a 10 boot too......I moved the stock shifter up a notch on spindle.

I raise mine up a notch when I am wearing my full gear to go trail riding but move it back down for tennis shoes around town.I wear a size 11 and it does get to be a tight fit.

Size 12 Fox Tracker and 12 steel toe workboots. I had it raised up a click until the boots broke in, now its back to stock and it works fine for me. But I agree, it would be nice to have the option of a stronger replacement lever.

RE: Aftermarket Gear Shifter
I just went from a pair of old MSR boots to some alpinestars 10 boots and I went out to ride today and this problem was the first thing I noticed. I have a size 9 but the toes of the tech 10's are bigger and I had a hell of a time shifting. Then I come home and get on here to search for differant shifters and what do you know someone started a thread on it hahaha So has anybody switched out shifters then? I think mine might be bent a little.

interesting i should see this post today. just bought a pair of new size 10s last week and had troubles all weekend getting my foot between the shifter and the peg...i'll try to move the shifter up a couple of clicks, but then everytime you want to down shift youve got to lift your foot all the way off the peg. didn't have to do it with my older mx boots. i'll let ya'll know how it goes.
anyways, i have about 350 mile on my new bike and am loving it.
broke it in to basically follow this method, http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm, and seems to be fine. though i need to change the oil and filter next trip up. (i'm only riding once a month up in maine for the time being)... also agree with many folks about the squishy front brake. i rode honda XRs for a while and even the front brakes from 12 years ago were stronger. i'll try the SS cable 1st, this spring, along with some other mods; airbox, pipe, carb, sprocket...fun bike though. glad i own it.
