Default Advice on a KLX replacement??

Folks- I'm getting my son a used KLX250S because he turns 16 next summer. Or I'm gonna buy a KTM 450EXC dual sport and give him my KLX250.

Question: I found a brand new 2008 KTM 450EXC on sale for $5600 before tax from a dealership. On a scale of 1 - 10 (1 being worst 10 being best) what would you rate the price for this bike?

Mike

9, good price, if that's what you want buy it. They usually clip you another 400 for the DS kit, unless you found exc-r

There's a low hour (47) supermoto version of that bike on KTMTalk classifieds right now for $5800. Since a SM kit can go upwards of $2K, I'd give that price about a 7.

For sale 2008 KTM 450 EXC-R Super moto motorcycle. Bike has 1000 miles, 47 hours, the super moto kit was installed with about 800 miles on the bike. Tires are still brand new Michelin pilot power 17 inch front and back. DNA wheel kit with orange hubs and 320mm front brake. Super moto hand guards, led tail light, clip on bar end mirrors. I’m keeping the dirt wheels and tires for spares for my 2 stroke KTM. $5800.00 Sorry no trades!!! Bike is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Check this model out. Brand new for 2010 and plated in the USA I believe. Check the weight! These modern 250's have more than enough mumbo for you average rider. 106KG dry and all new.
