Scott, you should be ashamed going around here and spreading unfounded rumors and such. Next thing you know, you'll be saying how great the pumper carb is on the KLX. C'mon Man!

Hey there TNC, back off now. They were actually well founded rumors if I have my story straight. And I hear is that the pumper carb is a POS. All you'll get is 25 MPG and a bike that will no longer bump the front over a 2x4. Will not start on a warm day and makes a con rod look like this:

I might have to get a bigger socket down at Harbor Freight for my torque wrench to tighten those rod bolts...LOL!

Who designed that part... it has bolts at both ends of the rod? Someone is going to need help putting the piston rings on.

Hey... question... did you have to gap the rings when you installed the kit, or did they come pre-gapped?

Bill trims the rings as required for installation. You will need to arrange them on the piston before inserting.

LOL!! Sorry pal, bringing back your old thread from the dead. Even my "Beta forum buddy" Redpillar was commenting on your build.

I see from your bike description you did end up going with the pumper carb. Thanks for the good info on this bike! Nice to see I'm not the only one who screws the pooch when putting something together! Good job!

I see you're in good company. We miss Redpillar around here.
Pumper carb is for the most part working well but may need a little fine tuning still. Working through a couple issues at the moment with hard starting and a dead battery and/or charging system problem. Installed a new 51 tooth rear sprocket and was running 13/51 this weekend in some steep, loose stuff. Videos to follow sometime this week or next.
