I feel really terrible about breaking up this hug-fest, but does anybody know if the Brake! LED module for a KLR650 fits in the Acerbis taillight? Themodule fits our KLX250 tailight, but its a snug fit, and the unit has to be turned upside down. I like the Acerbis tail light, but I already have the Brake! module, which I'd rather not give up.

Here's a simple check: Can someone with the Acerbis taillight measure the distance between the screws that hold the cover in place? (If its the same as the stock taillight, then theres at least the chance that it might fit ... otherwise, you'd have to start cutting the circuit board or some other nasty mutilation. [:@])

After taking a closer look, it may not fit:
Looks like there's 2 "chambers" inside the cover: 1 for the tail light / brake light (the red part of the cover), and another for the license plate light (the white part).
I'm guessing there's enough platic in there that would need some serious Dremeling to get theLED module to fit. (Hey, "Dremeling"! Did I just invent a new word?!??[sm=drooldude.gif])
If anyone was ambitious enough to unscrew their taillight and take a pic, both Deej and I would be eternally grateful. (Alright, how about " I would be grateful for at least a week, and Deej would appreciate the kind gesture"?)

Cool, thanks Bill ... it looks like there's some potential! (I hope you didn't yank your fender off just for the pics!)
Someone bid $20 on the taillight, but then retracted it, soI'll wait to see how the bidding war escalates. Based on your photos, it might beworth gambling a couple bucks to see if its doable!
Mike
P.S. - There's a set of 97 KLX300 CAMS availableon eBay - Item #: 120097350669 (Sorry, no link to click ... I'm multi-tasking on multi-computers.)

So, for anyone who's interested (Deej, this means YOU!), I'm going to do an "Acerbis / Brake! LED" experiment. Hopefully I'll have some positive results to show in a couple weeks.
