YOu need to make sure you have LOTS of room between the end of your lever and the Pro Rally to prevent it from jamming up if you fall. It is a real bastardo to get the lever unjammed. not to mention if your front brake lever happened to jam.

To swill, That would be to close for my liking. As was said before there are a lot of shorty clutch levers that fit you just lose the clutch switch and have to join the wires. The brake lever has that tang deal to operate the brake lite switch, I had a shorty lever that I tried making a tang and it did work but when mounted the threaded rod that pushes on the master cylinder piston was off center so out came the hacksaw to the stock lever for now till someone comes out with a brake lever. Also that little brake lever return spring can cause problems. I think I have a Moose clutch lever on mine just now.

Welcome to the forums there, I am wondering if anyone has tried to move the perch in a little? I didn't have to cut my levers on the KLX and the install on my wife's bike went without any problems. I wonder why people are cutting the levers?

My stock levers worked fine, I just prefer shorty levers, always fitted shorty dog leg levers on my bikes, stumpy little fingers might have something to do with it.

what do you mean "perch", Deej? the brake side fit perfect. but i had to grind down the clutch lever. don't really know why one side fit and the other didn't.

i appreciate the opinions. bought the bike last week and it hasn't been on the dirt yet, til this upcoming weekend. i bought a 1986 suzuki 125sp in december to learn to ride, and quickly realized i needed something better. lovin' the klx so far.

The perch is the bracket that holds the lever assembly to the bars. By loosening it you should be able to move the lever in a bit on the bars, you may have to move your mirror also. Tip: don't tighten the perch so tight that the lever won't move with a bit of force as in a fall that way if you drop it and the lever hits it will move on the bars and not break, not as much an issue with guards installed just a general tip.
