Matt2496,
Because there was a Detour sign in the middle of the road the driver was not issued a ticket , she claimed that it blocked her view. Now I have to go after the town to pay the medical bills. I almost have to side with her. The sign was deffinately in the wrong place. My whole town is one major detour. They have been working on the main street for almost a year. The worst part is I was only 2 blocks from home. Al'a I know is somebody better pay for the bills cause I can't afford them. Again the worst part is I don't remember the accident I can only go by the police report and what I stated at the time the cops showed up.

I went to the doc today, because my knee is bothering me now and my arm wouldn't stop bleeding. The only thing good that has come ouf of this wreck so far is, I have an unexpected week of vacation from work. I was told that I'm down to the last layer of skin of my arm and that the x rays of my knee were fine but if it still hurts when I go back for the check up I need a MRI. I was thinking if my bike would have been a cruiser, crotch rocket, or any other kind of bike, it would have had probably a couple thousand dollars worth of damage. The tough little KLX held its own in the fight with the pavement and came out on top with only a few scratches. I love my little underpowered KLX. It takes me places most people could never even dream of.

I know I'll get flamed for this but . . . I take it you have no medical insurance???? And you're riding a motorcycle? I think I would have sprung for medical insurance before I plopped down the bucks for a bike.

Idahopilot,
When I brought the bike I had Medical insurance but due to a change in employment I have to wait for the coverage to kick in.
It's was just bad timing.

Ahhh, gotta love good ole carefree Canadian medical system...
Oh wait [&:] - never mind - I almost forgot that I pay for it all anyways...
(with ridiculous income taxes [:@],
sales taxes [],
property taxes [:'(],
vehicle transfer taxes,
gas taxes,
Goods and Services Tax[&o],
did I forget any?)

LAWL

But hey - I can just walk into a hospotal and get treated - that's cool I guess! (As long as I'm willing to wait for hours or days).

Nothin's free. We ALL pay for it one way or another. I used to live in Quebec on exchange with the Canadian Air Force (USAF) and saw first hand how your health care system works. A matter of fact my son was born there, but all medical costs were covered by the US Government. I just wasn't too sure who the doctor was working for -- the government or the patient. Sorry for the thread drift.

Hey Greg, according to your profile you live in the States (ie NJ)..... you can opt for your cobra coverage up to 90 days after termination.......even if you have a problem (ie. accident or sickness) before you elect to take the coverage or pay for it. Best of luck.
