Default Accident on my KLX

On my way home from riding today. I was travelling south bound on a small 4 lane highway here. I was coming to an intersection the light was green someone on the northbound side turned in front of me while I was doing 50-55mph and I manuevered to miss him and I did but I ended putting the bike down. I found it quite exciting sliding and rolling on the road but now I am pain. I remeber watching my bike slide into the north bound side of traffic throwing sparks all over the place. After I was done sliding and rolling I ended up in the median. Of course the driver of the SUV that pulled out in front of me didn't stop. Someone in the left turn lane stopped and helped me out. I got back on my bike started it up and drove it the 30 mile trip back home with no problems. I can't believe my clothing didn't rip. But I have some nasty road rash on my legs and arms. Damage done to the bike, bent bars, bent shifter, bent left side footpeg, bent clutch lever, kick stand foot was ground down from sliding across the pavement, left rear turn signal is chipped, left side plastic scuffed nicely. It could have been alot worse the bike or me could have been run over. Thank God it happen that way. Now I have an excuse to buy those renthal bars I've been wanting.

Holy crap! Biker's nightmare - left turning idiots and to make matters worse they didn't even stop to see if you were all right. Glad to hear that you are OK, considering. Also it's good that someone did stop to help out and at least the other folks around were kind enough to not run over you. Sometimes I wonder about people. I know road rash can be very painful but if that is the extent of your injuries you are indeed fortunate. Glad your KLX faired OK too, but that can be repaired or replaced. Your own parts are a little harder to come by.

Regarding the left turning SUV - does that count as hit and run? Anybody get a license plate? You should definitely report them - folks like that shouldn't be driving. Next time their victom may not be so "lucky".

No one got anything it was a mid 90's dark Jeep Grand Cherokee. My friend was behind me but he stopped to make sure I was ok I told him to take off after the Jeep but he had no luck. Its a bright lime green bike how can you miss it?!?!?! I've had people pull out in front of me before but nothing like this. I'm just alittle disgusted now, anytime I buy something new, something like this always happens.

The main thing is you are OK!

Now go find that tool on the Jeep and kick the living crap out of him!

Seriously, I ride with the high beams on at all time. It definitely helps.

I can feel your pain... Last month a Woman blew thru a stop sign and down I went.. The bike faired better then me. I wound up with a concusion a dislocated shoulder and one messed up leg. Of course I heard the usual..But I didn't see you . Well four weeks later and I'm finally well enough to get back on the bike.. Not much damage to it. Mess up the hand guard. Scratched up the mirror, foot peg , shifter and front fender. Started it right up and drove home. But once home the concusion hit I can remember leaving the house to go for a ride and the next thing I can remember was leaving the Hospital.. Take care all, it's a jungle out there.............

Glad to hear you are okay, sorry about the rash, it’s the worse in about a week.

I hate those idiots and then they do not even stop, I too had a guy change lanes and hit my front tire, bam!. He stopped about a ¼ mile down the road and then drove off.

We can only hope that karma catches up to them, just wish we could be there to witness it.
