AC separation
Anyone ever experience this. What grade and how long did it take to heal. Not sure what grade mine is, hopefully find out tmrw. ER was no help other than proving the clavical wasn't broke. Tmrw I go to the bone doctor.

Maybe more of us just have rotator cuff issues which is just shy of separation. I've fallen so many times over the years off of both my motorcycles and MTBs and compressed my shoulders. My right one is particularly troublesome. I noticed that the kid who is the 250 outdoor champ, Dean Wilson, separated his shoulder at the last Supercross race and tried to come back to defend his outdoor title. Even with his fitness and training, it's clear he's going to have to have surgery. Of course all shoulder separations are not the same, so I wouldn't put too much store into any discussion about it until you get a specialist's take on it. Hope it goes as well as it can.

Your real question is: How long until it heals?
Answer: It depends.
There is no accurate answer to that question, even if we were your orthopedic doctor and had examined you. How good is your overall health? Conditioning? Shoulder strength? What degree of separation do you have? Are you willing to wear a sling? How fast do you normally heal? Are there any other comorbidities in the picture (diabetes, hypertension, any current anti-inflammatory use for other problems, etc., ad nauseum)?
The first time I had one, it took several weeks before I could lift weights again, but, I was fairly functional in about 2 months, and it hurt for a couple of years. But, I was in my early 20's and was playing college football. The last time I had one, it took a couple of months before I could lift weights, I'm still not fully functional, and that was 6 months ago.
So, it depends. I hope yours heals quickly.
