Default About to begin the madness

So my FMF powercore 4 should be here by friday at the latest and I am still a little lost as to what to do(yeah yeah I know about the instructions) I hear some people talking about a seal between the header and muffler and some type of high temp sillicone goo that you have to use, what is this stuff? I am assuming I can pick it up at any auto store but I need to know what it is.My other question is about the "AF"(air/fuel?) screw some people say they adjust to get it running good,is this the screw covered by the plug that you take out when you do the dyno kit? if so would that mean I would have to take the carb out?
Thanks,
Hunter.

Follow the instructions completely, If you have issues it's due to not doing this and alot of folks have many issues with this simple task. There is a stock gasket that you don't use, it's in the insturctions, high temp silicone is in any auto parts store and needs to be applied to the joint where the gasket was and allowed to dry, as per instructions. The screw is under a cap on the bottom of the carb and can be accesed by spinning the carb in the boot on the bike but unhooked.

A bit of advice, allow the 24-hours recommended on the instructions for the high temp silicon to set before running. Otherwise you'll be doing it again.

That expensive exhaust and you have to glop silicone at the joint for it to seal up? Thats not cool. My big gun doesnt need that, or the HMF or the twin bros.... poor engineering there.

You don't "need" to do it. I didn't goop the RTV on mine at that joint and it isn't a bad deal. I can see the slightest of carbon soot from a leak there but it doesn't tick or anything.

You'll love the new Q4 but beware, it is loud. Mine blows a 97 db and a 98 would have gotten me kicked out of the race.

If they make a pipe the right way, you shouldn't have to use it. My muzzy has been on for nearly 14,000 miles and there is no leak.
