RE: 8000 miles, what now?
thanks dragon... I'm starting to realize that i end up lookin for information i've already asked questions on so if i put it where i can find it then i'm a happy grease monkey later.[8D]
heres a few pics, pretty self explanatory
SWING ARM NEEDLE BEARINGS getting a little love.
http://www.photodump.com/pie4foou/101_1265.html
little more grease for the selve

Put them all back the same way they came out, no such thing as too much grease... just makes for a good cleaning. oh and i found out that wd-40 is AWESOME for getting grime off of your aluminum... it worked like a charm!

(i'm sure your wondering what that black strip is zip tied to my bike... its a row of high powered magnets i bought from the hardware store and electrical taped them together and put it at the lowest point on my bike... its supposed to help with stop lights but i dont think the magnets i got are powerfull enough, so it came off when i was done.)
next week its steering stem bearings.
please dont torch me for the pics i didnt really plan on a "write up" hence the lame posts, hehe

(for some reason when i use photodump i cant get the picture to show in posts, but when i use photobucket it works fine? whats the dil?
oh and i tried the spring from a stock 450 and its a little wider not taller, and a little stiffer but the problem i had was the foot print was al little too wide for my likings... if it came with the stock "washer" it would have been all gravy..

Hey Maxx, thanks for the pics and the writeup. That is something I have been needing to do...well......since the bike was new. It seems there is a grease shortage somewhere when they put these things together. Thanks again for the reminder. [sm=smiley20.gif]
