Default 8-16-09 Local ride

the rufcut riders largest ride yet, 17 of us got together yesterday for a big ride, we had everything from a 990ktm adv to a kx125 and everything in between. Even saw a couple buggies. We all met up at 10 am at burger king, well the street legal bikes did, then we met up with the dirt bikes in the woods, we all had a pretty good time even with how many bikes we had... on to the pics.

That looks like it was a blast! I miss going on big group rides.

On Sunday, JKM, Robb H., ScottWR, their friend and myself went to Rocky Gap for kind of a Rufcut Riders-North ride. Did 2 laps and I was toast. You'd have been proud though, didn't go down once and all my levers are intact.

Did you finally get good handguards? I wish i lived closer to ANF, some great riding up that way. I was surprised that i didnt go down at all yesterday, must not have been riding hard enough.

LOL. Yeah, I got a set a Zetas. They've been tested, just not yesterday. Robb smoked a tree on his KDX (right where you did, I'm told), and ScottWR did a bit of rodeo riding on that rocky hill on the hard loop, but otherwise everyone did OK. I still have a hard time keeping up with those guys though.

BTW, how many Rufcut Riders does it take to pick up a KTM 990 out of the mud? I give those guys that ride the big bikes a lot of credit though. I have a hard enough time with my KLX.

Yea that was that long straight section of the trail with a slight bend in the middle, i bounced off of the trees on the left and it deflected me right, right into a slew of trees.. thats how i broke my fender and messed my leg up.... thats funny he took a header there too. I went up that rocky hill a couple times it didnt seem too bad... The more you ride with them the faster you will get.

Well i helped chad pick up that 990 3 times... rodney helped once and didnt realize he was picking it up by the exhaust pipe until it was too late, burned all 4 finger tips.... I was following directly behind the 990 quite a while, he did good, hes nutz. Its funny to watch that big of a bike in the woods like that... the pics i got of it laying down was hard dirt and real slippery mud on top... so much power and so heavy it just spun... He did good amazingly, had a dr650, and a ktm 640 and a xr650 that did ok.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. It is weird to see a 990 in the wood likes that. But at least we know it can be done. You think he could have picked up the bike by myself?

I wish I could more DS riders where I'm located
