RE: 60-70mph
Are you sure it's not you feeling nervous about the bike?
Kidding aside, I get a little nervous myself at those speeds... Not sure why, this bike is way less likely to fall apart than some of the old beater street bikes I've ridden...
It's just really light - you get used to being thrown around by wind etc.

That sounds like head shake, which is something I haven't really experienced much of, especially on this bike. Yes, a steering damper would solve that very nicely, but steering damper systems are not cheap...
What I often experience on the highway is not so much headshake, but sort of a wobbling back and forth (the whole bike), due to wind gusts etc from large trucks and/or heavy crosswinds.

The bars should not be shaking at those speeds! The bars don't shake at all on my bike. I don't know what it could be. If the bike is still under warranty I would bring it back to the dealer and let them have a look.. Let us know how you make out...

RE: 60-70mph
I have had mine at 65mph for long distances and it feels very stable and smooth. I can not beleave how smooth this little bike is.
I have rode big street bikes that didn't ride as nice as this one. Sounds like something is off in your wheel or tire . I had a 750 Honda and I replaced the wheel and tire because it was doing something like what you are describing. And it still did it so I never did figure it out. Hope you find the problem but an expensive damper will not fix the problem just hide it some. I had 2 dampers on my dragbike and you lost all feel of the steering but at 170mph who wants to steer anyway.

I would agree with what others have said here. Your describing Headshake and its a Bad thing. I have had my bike that fast and dont have that either but at those speeds I get a little uneasy on the Klx too. I would have the bike checked out. Might be something as simple as maybe a wheel is out of balance, etc.

RE: 60-70mph
Mine would start to shake at around 55 or 60 after I installed a rim lock which unbalanced the wheel. I took it to the shop and they got it back into balance by adding spoke weights. Now it's smooth and stable once again. You can see them in the image below - they are on the left. It is interesting to note that they are not exactly opposite the rim lock which is in the upper right. Looks like the spoke weights split the difference between the rim lock and the tube's valving. They balanced it on the computerize machine so it's possible it was out before and I just didn't realize it. Maybe the same thing with yours.
