When I installed my 351 kit I was running a FSR header with a modified KLX 300 muffler. Sounded great. But I wanted to try the stock exhaust figuring that I had a significant increase in power already so I could loose a bit to get a bit more stealth and quiet. When I first ran the stock muffler it was like, "Ahhh - quiet!" I hadn't realized how intrusive the the extra noise was especially at cruising speed. Did I loose some power? Yeah, a bit. But for everyday riding around I don't really notice it. Trading that 1.5 hp for a more relaxing ride was worth it. That exhaust growl was kind of bad *** but I don't really need to announce my arrival from a half a mile away. Although - it was bad ***.

"Deejing" is an action that requires detergent, water, polish, rags, and elbow grease.

I made mine out of a KFX400 stock exhaust cap by cutting it down with with an angle grider and riveting it in place.

I think my HMF can is slightly oval, but the tip is definitely round. It sets into a recessed portion of the can and can spin around to any position.
