Bro, you gotta post some pics of it apart and the engineering.

how does the BMW handle in the woods/tight trails?
*now back to your regular programing *

I can't wait to see a dyno chart on the 351-clev I mean KLX

I just did a 24 hr race out here and got 8th out of 18; I had the smallest bike and softest setup....... lets just say I really wanted more coming out of the corners and the suspension beat the crap out of me! but I had pretty good results for my first Ironman!

If you change only the displacement, your HP peak will happen at an earlier point in the curve. It's just the nature of the beast.

Something to note though. We have kits over here in Japan that have similar compression ratios. With an increase from 11.0:1 to 12.5:1 it's recommended to use premium gas. Also, most of the kits here are offered with a bolt-on oil cooler because of the added heat generated with that type of setup. The other thing I've seen done is to fit higher capacity radiators off of a YZ four stroke or something equivalent.

That's for all-out racing though, so I guess you gotta apply it to your own situation.

I'd go for the 350 kit. I had been considering the 331 or 340 kit but I'd like to see how the 350 prototypes work out. I really like the stock gearing of the 2009 KLX and with the additional power of the 350, it should be a sweet setup. Keep us posted.

question, how much sleeve is there in your kits compared to stock. can you rebuild safely, any chance of warping or cracking do to a thin thickness. i will be uping the motor next year when the bikes out of warrenty, but i daily ride the thing so honing and a new set of rings/seals would be nice every year or so.

I noticed an increase in heat with my 331 kit, but I don't have my jetting quite right yet. I have a mid throttle stumble, and will play with the fuel screw to see if it's rich or lean. I am running the KLX300 DJ kit with 132 main and third notch on the needle, airbox lid on, no snorkel, full Delta exhaust. When I ran this same setup on the 250cc, it ran real strong. I can also feel the extra "buzz" in the bars. The 350 would be an awesome kit if it gets rid of the "buzz" and pulls strong like the 331 at low RPM's!

Default here are some pics

I'm not seeing the regular icon to post pics here, so we'll have to link them in.

The stock 250 alongside the 331cc cylinder. The 350 will look just about the same.

The 331 cylinder with the 331 piston. The 350 piston will be larger, of course, but will weigh the same as the 300 piston. The KLX250 is based on the 300. These engines run smoother if the piston weighs the same as a 300.

A couple pics of the 33mm Pumper Mikuni

The brake lines. Either stock length or for the lowered bikes.

The bashplate. Aircraft aluminum, heli-arc welded.

A little block off plate for the air injector mod.

Bill will have more info sometime during the development, I'm certain we'll do dyno checks for tuning, and there will be more instances for pics.
