if you get the 340 you have to get a bigger carb right?
Nope, you can usethe CVK. The pumper is just a nice compliment to the 331 if you want to take full advantage of the added low-end torque for lofting the front wheel more easily.

The CVK is smoother than a pumper, but it can't call upon your added low-gunt instantly like a pumper can.

Bill Blue charges $450 + shipping. That includes sleeving your cylinder and the piston, rings, gaskets, etc. I paid $483 total for my Thumper Racing 340 kit, including shipping. I had to send them my cylinder first though, and I had to pay shipping on that too.

The cost of a pumper carb depends on which one you go with. Four Stroke Works charges as much as $675 for a 35mm Keihin FCR. I don't remember exactly what Bill charges for a Mikuni TM33 carb, but it was around $320 plus shipping. A Mikuni TM36-68 can be had for around $290. There's a new one on eBay right now for $271.99 (the seller has some negative feedback, though). The TM36 comes in 2 versions: one with an accelerator pump and one without. The TM36-68 has the accelerator pump.

Can we bore the stock 250 cylinder and replate it for the 300 piston? Or even the 340?

Why would you bother doing that over buying a KLX 300 cylinder IF it could even be done & no you cant take the 250 cylinder to 340 without a sleeve.

I should not have ask for the 340 cause my plan is to built a 300.

In Canada I will pay 500$ before tax for a Klx 300 cylinder...and a rebore/replating will cost me only 290$ so 210$ saving...So is a 250 jug reborable to make a 300?

I could be wrong but I belive that the 250 has enough meat to bore and recoat to a 300.

exactly, that was my point all along. it's just that up til now no one has ever said thata sleeved cylinder would fail except for me. thanks

Are you a comedian or bi-polar? You’ve been preaching the opposite the entire thread.

what are you talking about? I'm pro bore and anti-sleeve all the way. I think you need to reread my posts before you post and make a complete fool out of yourself. I guess I could be called both though to be exactly honest.

Well here's the entire post.
Sure seams to me that you're agreeing with hokie01 who said: "DO IT!!! Sleaved ,bored or stock", not "exactly" your point at all there Mr. "I'm pro bore and anti-sleeve all the way".

don't you have anything better to do than sit at your computer and analyze and dissect everything that comes offMY fingertips? It really is pathetic. Well, since you're sitting there dying for my reply while you watch "cops" in your matted down lazyboy, here it is. I was agreeing with his statement which said "you can have failure in any of them". Of course he's going to "do it". "It" refers to either bore or sleeve, that's a given. He's already got his mind made up to upgrade the displacement. Thedebate waswhich routeis better and I was just defending my position which was boring and plating. No one had said that a sleeve will fail and he was the first, thus I was agreeing with him. Jeesh, for someone who brags about having a bike and putting me down for not, you sure do sit at your computer alot and display your desperation at life.[&o]
