331 Third party ride report
Here is a link to a ride report from a fellow I met and rode with last weekend at his ranch in the Wichita Mountains of Southwestern Oklahoma.

Great stuff for sure. Is that him on the KLR? or is that you? Who took the picture? I noticed that the rider on the KLR has a prosthetic leg, man that's so cool that he rides. I hope if anything ever happens to me I can find a way to adapt. Kudos.[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

Good eye, Deric.
Chris Johnson is the guy on the KLR 250. He lost his leg 25 years ago. He is a mechanical engineer working in the field of prosthetic feet. He makes the carbon fiber spring feet you may have seen in Runner Magazine and the like. He is able to run, ride, climb and I will assure you, ride a motorcycle like any "normal" athlete. I was amazed. He can even kick start the bike with it, but he usually chooses to use his left for that. He does have a bit more control with it. His trials bikes are set up with left foot brakes of his own design and machining, although he can use a regular brake...just not with quite the same finess.
My wife, Susan, took the photos. Chris has a gravel pit literally in his back yard and miles of trails and gravel roads nearby, not to mention rocks galore.

Awesome.!!! Its amazing to see that he didn't allow that to slow him down, what an inspiration to everyone. Thanks for the information. Later man.

I saw that artical on thumper talk last night, thought it was your bike that he was talking about. Are you running the muzzy wide open or do you have the quiet core in?

RE: 331 Third party ride report
I use the quiet core insert on the Muzzy. Chris' KLR has a stock exhaust so there is quite a contrast from one bike to the other. Weather permitting, I will be riding with Chris again tomorrow at a place called Crossbar Ranch in the Southern part of Oklahoma near Davis. It's supposed to be pretty rocky. I haven't tried the KLX in the rocks yet. Something new...
