330 kit vs 351 kit

330 kit vs 351 kit
Has any one looked into the kustomkraft 330 kit and the B and B 351 kit and seen a different? I see a hugh price difference when I look at the 2 and the smaller 330cc kit cost more. So is kustomkraft just trying to make more money on sales then B and B? Or is there something else there that justifies the cost? I've read that Bill is a great guy and he's not overly far from me so I'd be more likely to go that route.

I know that the Kustom Kraft cylinder is electroplated like the stock cylinder so there is no liner and they have to start with a klx300 cylinder. I think that accounts for at least some of the price difference. I'm not sure if that is really an advantage or not, I'd like to have the option to use my 250 cylinder and to be able to rebore if something goes boom. I'd like to see some dyno charts (done on the same dyno) comparing the torque and what rpm it occurs at of the 330 v.s the 351.

I have the custom kraft which came with the bike. I like it but have notheing to compare it to other than a stock sf. I have never had the head off in the 5000 miles I have had the bike so I can not eve report on the condition of the cyl.
If my bike did not come with the 330 I had allready planned on a 351.
I think if something goes "boom" Bill blue could sleave either a 330cyl or resleave one of his 351 cyl so get what you want.
Cheers Jim

The price difference between my 351 & the Kustom Kraft 331 is he uses new 300 or used cylinders & the new cylinders are expensive, then the plating runs the price up the Kustom Kraft cylinder is a great kit.
My 351 kit starts out using used 250 or 300 cylinders this loweres the cost, then I install a sleeve this is cheaper than the plating cylinder so my kit cost less. Both kits are good quality & both kits are worth the price.

Thinking out loud. I have my klx geared so it works good in the tight singletrack, which means it spins 7k down the hwy to the next trail or home.
How are the big bores at singing down the road at 7k? durbility, added vibration? yes the additional torque would allow you to regear, BUT in the slow singletrack you'd still want the same gearing, a compromise i wouldn't want to give up. Wouldn't want to gear up to keep the rpms out of it on the road then have to abuse the clutch all the time in the woods.
Anyone with a big bore care to comment? I was leaning more toward the 300 for reason of balance and piston weight for those long 7k drones. Am I concerned about nothing?

I put a 300, I got from fleabay cheap, in my klx back in late 06 and ran that until I put in Bill's kit a while back. If it vibes more I really didn't notice it.
