Hey ODS why did you get rid of your Suzuki? Did you not like it?

I had a DRZ400SM last year
I had a DRZ400SM last year
It was great, but I wanted the extra power and road-ability of the DR650 -- besides, I suffer from Multiple Bike Disorder, and I already had a whole season on the 400, so time for something else.
I wish I had kept it though -- I miss it -- it sure was nice in the twisties -- best handling bike in twisties I hace EVER owned, and I've owned a lot! (Average 3 new ones each year)
But, the 650 with FMF Q exhaust, dynojet and airbox mods is more power and torque, (even though the 400 guys never seem able to believe this). But I've had direct experience, and no contest in acceleration on equally-set-up bikes. My DR650 is hard to keep the front down in first gear, so I have to be careful with it, or I'll eat the handlebar! And second gear is almost as bad (even with stock gearing for superb road-ability). Raw, brute power is Fun!
Now that I have a season on th 650, I may go back to another 400SM, or a Husky or an Aprilia....decisions, decisions....MBD is a tough thing.
FWIW -- my KLX250S is now in the shop being morphed into a KLX*300*S, with Muzzy system, dynojet kit, and airbox mods, of course. That ought to raise the fun factor even more on this great bike!

Hahaha you take MBD to a new level as you don't even keep them past the honeymoon.
I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all if you ask me. There are certainly far worse things to spend your money on.
ODS you seem to be up on the new stuff coming out. My dealer told me that Honda should be releasing in the US a XR450L, a dual sport 450 based on the CRF450X. Now that would be totally sick! Have you heard that rumor too?

I am always watching for new stuff -- I asked last week, and nobody has any news (dealer denies everything as usual) -- I sure would be interested in an XR450L, too. Maybe it will come soon.
I've had people comment on my MBD, and I just say "I'm spending my kids' inheritance!" -- why not? Can't take it with me. Worked, saved and invested all my life, now it's time to get some back.

Hmmm. I have heard nothing but good things about the Kenda 270s. So much so, I bought a set and have them waiting to go on. You say they are no too good for the street? Oh brother.

They are quite comfortable on the street but they are a harder compound than the stock Dunlop 603s. That's great for wear - mine have over 1000 miles on them and you can hardly tell they are not new. However, the harder compound takes away road traction so you'll need to get used to that before you push them on the asphalt. I personally take it easy and don't ride aggressively on the road, so this trait of the tires is not a big hindrence to me. Fortunately, though, I've not had come to a fast stop on wet roads with these on - that could be interesting.
