Default 300cc jug

Got my 300 kit today, and I have a question for the guys that installed there own. Did you us the cylinder the way it came or did you have a hone run through it? Mine looks like it is honed but theres really not much of a cross hatch. (x shaped hone marks).

By the way, Ron Ayers is a class act if anyone is looking for parts. My local shop gave me a 10% discount but ron beat the price by 80 dollars and that included the shipping.

If that is the OEM part, you don't need to hone it, it's been done already. The cross hatch is pretty faint but it shows up good if you get it in the light just right. Be sure and clean it real good to get all the oils off and just before you bolt it on, use a little bit of 10W40 or whatever oil is in your crankcase on a rag and *lightly* oil the inside of the cylinder.

Yes, I vividly remember that.

Glad to help, ol guy. I was looking for a photo documentary when I did mine but couldn't find one, so I made it for the next guy. Now someone just do one for the fork springs and we'll be even.
