300 KIT Ride report

RE: 300 KIT Ride report
Jerry can set you up with a 331 big bore, and he could also get you a ready to go pumper carb as well. If you want to go with the 340 kit, than www.thumper-racing.net has your answer. Although, I have heard some very convincing testimonials that a 300 with a properly tuned FCR pumper carb is a better ride than a 331/340 with the stock CVK. It sure would be sweet to go from a 250 w/ a CVK to a 331/340 with a pumper carb! Talk about an increase in power!
Actually, now that I think about it, I'm no sure if I had a 250 if I would go with a 300 kit or a pumper first? Probably the carb first.

At first I rolled my eyes at this idea.... back in the summer time. Now that I see it isn't that expensive or hard to do I am sold! I will be ordering my parts this weekend. Guess I gotta keep up with the Jones'. Thanks for the **** info SORTED.

Another source that at least 2 people I know of, including Nobrakes, have used is
http://www.kustom-kraft.com/The contact over there is Marvin and he doesoutstanding work.He will bore the OEM 300 (292)cc jugto 331cc and coat it with Nickel Silicon Carbide (Nikasil), which is equal to or better than the original Kawasaki 'Electrofusion'coating. They also supply a beautiful forged piston along with the wrist pin, clips, rings and gasket.
I'm not sure who does the machine work for Jerry at FSW, but you might want to check what process they use.

Ultimately I had a good reference for Kustom-Kraft from someone else, though, and I couldn't have been happier with Marvin's work. Excellent work, great communication, and it was delivered back to me when he said it would be, just as I was able to start riding again - near perfect timing. Can't ask for much more than that.

I would trust Jerry implicitly. The main reason I didn't go with Jerry is that he's a little hard to get in contact with sometimes, phone or e-mail. Sometimes response is quick, sometimes its days or even weeks. I was on a schedule and I had waited more than a week for a response about the 331cc. My collar bone was healing though I couldn't yet ride for about three more weeks but I didn't want to wait too long otherwise when I could ride again I didn't want my bike to still be apart waiting for the kit. His knowledge and work is top shelf, though.

This just in. I just tried to go to the FSW website and it seems that their domain has expired. Did Jerry go out of business?
