Good to hear! Sounds like this is the way to go for a REAL power increase. when converted to USD, it's about $445.00

I guess it's time to get out the credit card again....how can I resist a KLX300S?
With the other mods, too, of course....[sm=happy046.gif]

Already got the Muzzy and Dynojet kit sitting there, waiting....

EDIT: Just finished ordering online from the supplied Ron Ayers link.
Thanks to you guys for making it all come together as far as part numbers and reports!

i would love to do all the work myself but i dont know how to break a cam chain and put everything back together without messing up the timing, anyone got suggestions?
also do u guys think it would be cheaper to do the conversion befor taking the bike out and selling the old parts or possibly a trade?

No need to break cam chain, it just slips over both cams before it is retensioned. You will need a ring compressor (sears, use it return it), everything else is just turning bolts and pushing in 2 circlips! Take your time and have a couple of brews while you enjoy a little reading in the workshop manual that your dealer will provide you with upon request. Setting the timing is just about setting up the correct relationship between the 2 cams and the number of chain links seperating them. That's it! Torque it all back up to spec, replace your fluids and Bob's yer uncle.

What does this mean in terms of real horsepower? What about increased vibration?

Like it really matters, does this really impact fuel milage? After all it only has a 1.9 gallon tank until I upgrade it to the IMS tank.

If I do this upgrade, do I have to put on an aftermarket exhaust immediately or, can run the factory setup for a couple of months first?

Thanks!
Sid

Yep. You can take the 300 right on up to 365cc but I believe that's done with a 5mm bore and a 9mm stroker crank.

Jaz,

I've been looking into this also. I fugure if you buy the cylinder $309.00. Send it out to be bored and buy weisco piston and rings...

Stroker used to do the big bore, but they're not around anymore. I've called a few shops and I've been told you can go upto 340CC and keep the same crank?

I think It will be a while before I do this, but it's fun to plan. There is a guy who worked for Stroker and started his own shop. I can't remember his name. If anyone knows, pass it on.
