I came up with slightly different numbers...but then again I only added up the major components. I'm considering the Wiseco Piston Kit instead of the Kawasaki piston...

Ron Ayers oemcycle.com
11005-1983 Cylinder-Engine 309.93 304.23
11060-1740 Gasket, Cylinder Base 5.16 6.33
11004-1314 Head Gasket 37.31 36.87
11060-1318 Gasket, Head Cover 26.10 25.80
13001-1463 Piston-Engine 62.64 62.64
13002-1109 Pin-Piston 9.63 9.94
13008-1071 Ring-Set-Piston-Std 36.66 36.23
92033-1054 Ring-Snap 1.68 2.06

489.11 484.10

The Wiseco Piston Kit is $91.29 (Piston/Rings/circlips), and their Wrist Pin is $9.99. If you substitute the Wiseco parts, the price drops about $10. It's a nice looking aluminum-forged piston...

When you remove the head from the cylinder to intall the 300, do you have to touch the cams/valves at all or does it simply onbolt as a unit then reinstall on the new cylinder?

It's a good time to check the valve clearances while you have everything apart. And if they are out, you have to take the cams off anyway so you can adjust them easily enough during this procedure. You do need to take the cams off in order to free the timing chain so that you can get the head off. The cylinder is under the head, of course. During reassembly, you do need to re-time the cams. It's not hard.

I should have added, "It's not hard" .... if you don't F*ck it up.

Hey, I've done two big bore installs and only dropped the timing chain once. I reckon I'm 1 for 2, I guess those stats aren't so great, huh? But I *do* have my big bore, that's all that counts.

I did, back in June I think when I did my 300cc kit. I installed my 331cc kit in October and I might have posted a few photos but not a full photo install like the first one since the procedure was the same. Sorry I don't have a link to it, but it should be easy enough to find using the forum search tool.

I think that we need to rename EMS. We should now call him "Salty" I've noticed that he is proficient at rubbing salt in wounds!!
