Thanks for clearing that up. I am just waiting for a few months and then I am going to go for the full Muzzy, Go big or stay home. The dealer here told me today that I would have to wait till October to get the Dynojet for the 09 klx, I am sure that I can pick it up in the states right now.

why wait on the '09 kit when the 300 kit is proven and makes more power to the 300 than the '09 kit makes for the 250? the needle is the key, and the 300 kit gets you the better needle. don't listen to your dealer, they know not what they talk about.

I made my own head pipe to mount a Supertrapp slip-on for a KLX300. You can't just bend up some tubing and bam, you're done, but it's not a lot harder than that. You need to re-use the ring and the flange from a stock pipe (which ruins that pipe, since you have to cut the ring off).

You can see what I did here https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=11692

and here.

The diameters are identical and the 300 header will not add any performance; you're banking on the Muzzy to do that. But if you want all out performance, you should look into the Muzzy header as well because it is huge in diameter. The 300 header looks the same as the oem 250's, but it is longer by around an inch or so and I think where the muffler connects to the 300 header is a bit different as well. just sayin.
See, I knew I may have been off on that. Aware of the mismatching, but not why. Thanks.

Yeah but the real question is if the 300 kit makes more power to the 250 then the 250 kit does to the same bike. My guess is that by your butt dyno, they're both good.

The 300 header from fourstrokeworks.biz is significantly larger in diameter than the stock 250S. I have one. Call the folks at fourstrokeworks.biz and ask them if they modeled it off the stock 300 header or not...or if they know if the stock 300 header is larger or not.

Don't listen to IG's rambling's, he has no friggin clue. Yes, it's an inch longer, but it is also (depending on where you measure) anywhere from 1/8 to a full inch larger than the stock 250S header.

I'll post photos with measurements if you like...I'll take the damn 300 header off my bike just to shut IG up. Sick of his BS.

Yes please. Not really sure what header I have. It is OE down here on my 250R.
Maybe because it's the 'R' model not the 'S' model you get in the states.
