Angry 300 Header

Ok guys, I got the DJ Kit and my Slip on Muzzy in but the 300 header I ordered two weeks ago is MIA. Do you know how bad it sucks to have the two but not be able to put them on because I am not sure were the header is and the guy from e-bay sent it usps with no tracking #. Sorry just had to vent because I want to get it on before my weekend ride but that is looking grey.

No I got the muzzy 300 slip on so it is bigger than the stock 250. The post office said it can can be two more weeks before they locate it. Word of advice make sure everything you buy off ebay has a tracking number.

I have a buddy that runs a exhaust shop, I am thinking about getting him to just make something for me. What kind of pipe do you think would work best for the header?

Yeah, I feel you there. I have a pile of stuff (331cc kit, 280mm rotor, jet kit, SS brake line, Vapor dash, and a few other small pieces) waiting on a KLX300 header so I can take it all apart only once, and get it back together.

Not sure if it's bigger per se, but a can that will fit on the 250 header will not fit on the 300 header. That doesn't mean your can is bigger, just has a bigger diameter at the part where it connects to the header. Someone can check me on this if I'm wrong, I'm still pretty new.

Regardless, the 300 header is bigger and will offer some gains over the 250 size header.

This is just what I've gathered off of forums, I've only had my bike a month, and the only mods are the seat strap off and a flat tire!

no, that's wrong information (some of it). The ONLY difference between the 250 header and the 300 header is length. The 300 header is longer and thus the reason 300 slip-ons will not fit on 250's without a header changeout. The diameters are identical and the 300 header will not add any performance; you're banking on the Muzzy to do that. But if you want all out performance, you should look into the Muzzy header as well because it is huge in diameter. The 300 header looks the same as the oem 250's, but it is longer by around an inch or so and I think where the muffler connects to the 300 header is a bit different as well. just sayin.
