250sf dynojet install

When you hold the carb upside down you should not be able to blow into the fuel port.
If you still can, remove the float and and float needle, put your finger over the hole and try blowing in. The only way fuel can enter the carb should be through that hole.
Reassemble leaving the bowl off. With the carb upside down the tab on the float assy should be pushing the little black tipped plunger into the seat blocking the flow of fuel (or air when you blow). If not, it could be the floats are rubbing/sticking somewhere, the plunger tab is bent way out of spec, or the float valve is bad.
I once had new float valve that was bad and would inttermittantly not fully close causing my carb to overflow.

First, thanks for the help, if I didn't get the tips on troubleshooting the carb I would definetly still be fiddling with it.
So, to make a long story short, I had the fuel line running in to one of the over flow outlets. Somewhere during the removal of the carb, I must have removed an overflow line and re-installed it over the wrong inlet/outlet. Probably not something I would normally share, as it makes me look like an idiot.
Any who....installed the carb, and after sitting for two weeks, plus a pretty cold day, I figured I was gonna struggle to get it to fire. But, she fired right up. Installed my FMF slip-on, and removed the air box lid, now I just gotta button everything up and see what the jetting fuss is all about.

I'll put that in the library of possible causes for next time I screw a carb up. Great job finding it, those obvious ones can be the most difficult to spot.
I was on the phone, on hold, ready to start chewing out dynojet when I realized that my float hinge pin had slid out of place causing the bowl to not seat on the carb. I almost made a fool of myself and the only reason I didn't was that I continued to stare at the carb while I was on hold.

Any tips for adjusting the push pull cables? The return is very, very slow.
