Yeh, I weighed my bike at 125kgs (275lbs) if I remember right.
Oil, water but no fuel.
But that wasn't stock.
There was quite a lot stripped off.
Maybe 300lbs stock is quite close.

 

You think you stripped off 25lbs?? the only thing that i can see alot of weight loss is the stock muffler, everything else is less than a pound here and there? maybe ill weight my box of stock stuff i removed.....

 

25 lbs does sound a lot. Thats about 11 kgs.

Lets see.
You mention the muffler swap.
Carry rack removed along with the entire rear end extension etc.
Stock headlight swapped for an Acerbis. That was a reasonable saving.
Swapped stock dials for a GPS so speedo cable gone also.
Stock steel tank swapped for clarke.
Nothing in the carb swap but push cable removed.
Stock indicators swapped for tiny ones.
Chain guard, passenger pegs, left mirror and mount, air box lid, de-icing plumbing, various other bits and bobs. All off.

Then add, bash plate, hand guards and extra heavy duty tubes.

mmmm hard to know.
I wish I had weighed it stock.

 

the bike weighs 262lbs. dry. either way, it's a heavy dirt bike for it's power. the '09 is supposed to be heavier also although I honestly don't tell any weight difference over my '06 and it doesn't have a rack either.

 

What is stock Horse power on the klx 250? What would the horsepower gain be on a FMF Q4 slip on? Would it be noticeable?

 

Stock horsepower for the bike is about 17hp to the rear wheel. With a slip on and the proper jetting you could probably pick up 2-3 hp.

 

don't expect alot if all you do is a slip-on IMHO its a package deal;
free up the air intake
jet kit
free up the exhaust

or just put on different sprockets, doesn't matter what the HP is -big enough sprockets (small in the front)
will get any front wheel up if thats what you really want.

 

So how many bikes have you ridden on the road with a pumper carb? I would say that the the pumper was just a good of mod for the road as it was for the dirt.

 

I found the wheelie starter on accident

From a dead stop raise your rpmz to 2200 and let the clutch out quick...These bikes stand straight up 180 degrees.........Watch your chain with wheelies....Its the weak link that will snap boom puff...

It is all about practice. I'm not perfect at it yet, but at a stand still, I can put 1 leg down stand the bike up and lay it one its side and get it to spin 180 degrees the opposite direction. This can come in handy on the trail when you hit a dead end and want to get turned around.

Wheelies offroad are a must though, just like EMS had said.
