Oh wow, so a powerbomb headpipe does fit with a stock can. Wonder what other pipes fit?

Not sure, but the powerbomb went on perfect. It does however lack a heat shield. Winter riding gear is in danger. I use one of those velcro straps just above the knee to help keep it off the pipe.

lol, putting on a powerbomb on a stock KLX250S muffler would be like installing a turbo on an engine and not hooking it up. What's the point? While the stock exhaust components both need thrown in the garbage, it's the muffler that is restricting the flow the most, not the header. Money would've been better spent on a slip-on vs the header. You can drill the stock muffler til the cows come home, but it's not going to benefit flow enough to justify NOT pitching it, especially with a nice aftermarket header even though I do think the powerjokes are a bit overrated.
If ya don't believe my theory here, just read any header thread or muffler thread here where they talk about the oem muffler that comes on the 250S. There are quiet cores to take sound levels down if that is what you were worried about. A two-bros. slip-on sounds good to me if you don't want a full system. How much was that powerbomb anyways? just curious.

He just took the long road around to asking this question:

He obviously can't afford a Powerbomb and is suffering sour grapes syndrome..

The pipe is 199 retail. I got it in a box with the bike so i put it on. I have a power core 4 on the way. nothing to loose by drilling the stock one. Ride safe and thanks for the input

nah, the question is moot. He ended up getting it free which is great. But to pay $200 for a header when you're still using the stock can is ridiculous. An HMF slip-on can be had for that and it will increase power where the powerjoke won't do a darn thing unless you have a free flowing muffler to boot.
I don't keep up on fmf prices as I think the company produces junky oversized components for the KLX. Everyone knows the Muzzy or BigGun are the power makers on this bike. The posted dyno graphs prove it.
