RE: 250 or 300 ?
The KX 250 F looks nice. Do you think it would do ok in some water? Just crossing some creeks. Also, is it really lood? Don't want to **** of the neighbors to bad. What a bummer, can't find a good dirt bike without a big hassle. Don't want to spend 6 grand and be disappointed.
Thanks

RE: 250 or 300 ?
Is the KX 250 F a little quieter than the 2 stroke? I think it has a pumper carb as well. Can't get any info from the 250 forum. Seem like this is the only place and I appreciate the info. Still confused. I had my heart set on the klx 300, and still might go that way?

That's why I sent my stuff to MotoPro.
Got my forks and rear shock back yesterday. The difference in size of the spring on the rear is HUGE! Now I'm anxious to get everything back together and see what difference there is.

yeah, the 250F is one sweet looking bike as are all the KX's and even the KLX 250/300. It will be fine in the water, and yes it is pretty loud for stock. I think it's the loudest stock MX'er in its class. It's not a hassle, just go look around. Don't count the Yamaha WR's out, as they are real nice. Also, a used CRF 250X will work good too. These last two have lights which you may appreciate, the KX won't have that. You could buy a KLX300, add a pumper carb, remove the buttplug and throw a hi-flo air filter and have a pretty sweet ride there. But then you'd be close to $5500 minimum or so and could buy a WR or KX or used something or other with better suspension. If you want power wheelies, power out of corners or quick acceleration, the KLX 250 or 300 is not for you. A pumper carb would help, but these bikes are nowhere near the power of the aforementioned bikes. It's not to say the KLX isn't a fun bike, it just has its limits.
