After ordering a set of Unabiker radiator guards, Unabiker part number, KAWASAKI 09-21 KLX250S/SF RAD GUARDS, I found that the KLX300 and 300SM have different radiators than the 250, and the 300R is different from both of those as well. The bolt holes lined up with the frame tabs but the guards were so low they interfered with the front fender. Also, with the spacer plate on the 300/300SM radiators, the rear bracing wasn't even close to being able to reach the front plate of the guard. The general shape was right and each piece fit in its respective area but in the end could not be bolted together and thus were returned.

Currently I'm not finding any radiator guards that fit the 300 or 300SM. Seems odd that Kawasaki would change the radiators across the 250, 300, and 300R models when they used to be shared components.

 

Update from Unabiker.

I currently have a prototype ready for the KLX300R that I'm hoping to fit up later this week. Once I have the R model sorted, I'll be doing a model based off of that for the SM and other klxes. Brian BennettUnabiker Dirt Bike Armor

 

Steve at EmperoRacing.com has the radiator guards for the KLX300. I talked to him on the phone this week. He currently has only the stainless shown on his website but will be running the guards in black in the next couple of weeks. He will post the new part number for the black when they are completed. Black will be $15 more than stainless per Steve. I have the 2021 KLX300 in camo so I want the black guards. The website shows KLX300 and KLX300r, but the guards fit the KLX300. I informed Steve that the radiators are not the same on the different bikes.
