anyone have any intel on bigger tanks becoming available? Seems like the stupid 2.7 froM IMS is the still the only thing available... hope we get more options for 2021

 

You may want to call Clarke Racing and ask if they have any in the works. I would think so with the two new KLX300's.

Finally received tank yesterday and parts list in box says 2.7 not 3 as amazon had stated. I will be keeping it. .7 gal in the tank is better than the 1 liter bottle I had strapped on the back.

 

Been there, done that myself on my 2007 model. 2 x 1L bottles is better than walking but a 2.7G Clarke was even better! Out in Arizona, running out of gas could be life-threatening in some situations so, an extra 0.7G was welcomed and two additional bottles usually come along for the ride too! I'd loved to have a ~3.5G tank out there!

 

I started a thread on this on another forum and have since posted it to another one as well and would like to share it here for anyone that may be interested. I have tried to start a new thread on this but apparently it must be approved by the administrator/moderators before it can be posted. In the meantime I'll just leave this here until/if it gets the approval. This only pertains to the EFI models.

For anyone that may be interested there is currently an ongoing effort to try and get IMS interested in making a larger fuel tank for the EFI 250 and 300 KLX. This effort is being discussed on at least two other forums. In order to get IMS to consider this they need to hear from riders wanting to extend their fuel range. As far as tank size, most have agreed a 3-3 1/2 gallon would fit most riders needs.
