https://www.pivotpegz.net/kawasaki/k...13-klx-250-300 I know it says 2000 - 2013 but they should fit. I have a pair and there head and shoulders above the stock splinters.

Not as nice (or as wide).. but I have the $50 DRC's and they are a huge improvement. There is also the Chicom specials at less than $20 on fleabay, but I don't trust the castings to hold my 240lb riding weight....lol

I have contacted an engineering firm that I use in the past. I am going to try and develop the widest foot peg on the market . Somewhere along the line of the fast way pegs. And maybe even a pivotable hybrid. It won't be cheap but the pivot pegs still bite into my soles and become uncomfortable. I'm 44 and 215 pounds. I won't be jumping 15 feet in the air but will be riding 20 mile gravel roads at times. Hopefully the development won't run into the thousands. But if they come out right I wouldn't mind doing a batch to see how low of a price point I could get them to. I'd easily pay up to 325.00 if they were close to ideal. Would anyone else?

I would also like some input on a skid plate. I ran an sw.motech on my klr 650 but on this 250 I'd like to run a full coverage plastic unit for weight savings.

I don't know about plastic, had the OEM plastic one on my KLR. Don't know when it happend, but when I went to change my oil I noticed it had cracked pretty bad. So like you, I went with SW on my KLR. On my KLX, I went like "reinigef" and got the Ricochet skid plate. That skid plate is going on 8 years old, so I'm sure they've changed and have been improved.

IMS Superstock Pegs and Utah/Moose skid plate.
I'd be hard pressed to pay $325 for a set of pegs.

325 is not far off from a BB kit. That is crazy talk for pegs.
