Hey Yankee99, That exhaust looks like a royal pain in the a$$!! I feel your pain.

Maybe the idiots just packed the wrong header at the shop & can just swap it over for you.

I started off buying cheap copy parts in Thailand & have given up now. Even if the stuff does fit, it generally breaks, cracks, rusts or discolors at an alarming rate. If i want something I find it on ebay & wait the couple of weeks to deliver & sometimes pay some import tax. More money, more time but real products

Hi yankee99,

I want to have both sets of wheels so I can swap depending on what type of riding I have planned.

Thanks for the heads up re gtrider.

That sucks about your pipe, I still have the original header on mine. What has the company you got it from said?

The pipe looks very well made and if the end was sized correctly it would have been a 20 minute job. I think all these parts are pre cut then sent to welding. I am guessing that the wrong end was welded on. I sent my original and the new header back to the shop.
Hopefully it will be back this week

Unfortunately no i did not. I called the shop where i purchased the pipe and they were going to take care of it. I sent pics and the new pipe and the oem pipe to them...They then sent both pipes back and after a inspection it appears nothing was done. I noticed that they bent the flange that the studs go through so the nut would have more thread. This of course was not a proper fix...They said someone would come to my house on saturday and install it for me (of course a non-thai must be incapable). Well saturday was a no show but sunday morning a (mechanic?)man came to my house and attempted to do the install. Well not only did the nuts not seat 100% the pipe was touching the chain tension-er and part of the frame. The mechanic called the shop and explained this to the owner/mgr.

The owner said she is coming thursday (today) with her regular employees and a new pipe....Well when they came they did not have a new pipe so i said this is not the proper way to install with a bent flange. They were very quick to give me my money back and that is fine.....

I will now look for another pipe this week.....

@Satonic are your nuts seated at least 100%? Is your pipe extremely close or touching the tension-er?

Hi Yankee99,

I only got the can and the small section of pipe that has the bung for the sensor. I use the original header.

Have you tried fitting using the original header? The 2 other guys I know with d-trackers also use the original header.

Oh I also swapped the position of the clutch and brake cables. Now the brake cable isn't forced to move with the suspension.

Then in goes the new improved snorkel

I also needed to Mod the o2 sensor or the bike would run lean...thanks for all the info on the forum...

I purchased 2 330ohm 1/4 watt resistors to insert in the o2 plug....I soldered the ends to make them fit nice and snug in the female side....

I then added some heat shrink tubing

I inserted them and covered everything with some electrical tape....Doing it this way i theoretically could return the bike to stock if it had a catastrophic failure...
