I just got my bike back from the dealer for a valve check...And my buddy the sales guy said the the 09 KLX250S has changed again....

I explained to him about the SF model but he said no..It wasnt a that model said he received another 09 recently and they changed the plastics on it.....He said he didnt like it as much as the 1st series of 09z but said the have changed the look.....Is he fibbin...

Anyone else seen or heard of any changes...

I dunno...What else did they change? I'm thinking the dude is just mistaken. It doesn't make sense that Kawasaki would just change plastics...they were already updated...

 

he's misinformed and wanting you to feel bad that you may no longer have the latest and greatest. he's thinking of the SM model I'd say even though he says he's not. generally, salespeople know nothing about what they're selling.

 

Agree. Can't see them bringing out 2 different editions of 1 model within a year?

 

The salesman may be thinking of the Sherpa?

 

This man speaks the truth. I plainly told my salesman that I wanted the '09 KLX250 and he swore up and down no bike existed. He spent a month looking for an '08 and finally after he finds the bike, he says "YOu know this is actually an '09?" And when we were sitting in the garage the day we brought it home, he knew nothing about it. DIdin't know it was a 6 speed, lots of other things.

Not trying to neccessarily bash my sales guy (he's a friendly dude) but they rarely know much about all bikes, just general things if that. Just trying to make the example that I wouldn't trust your salesman...

 

i work for a kawa dealer they are the same thing there is no newer 09

 

but if you look at the pics at the kawi website and then look at the intro article at this website, the bike looks like it has been lowered or something in the pics on the kawi website. the kawi website used to have tons of pics of the new '09 when it was released for viewing around a year or so ago. now they just have a few pics and it is the production model. the early pics showed no horn, no rear passenger footpeg foot guards, and the prior-to-introduction front brake line routing.
