2010 klx250 wont start/idle

valve check is relatively simple (no need to drain oil)...the hardest part is getting the top cover off...requires removing the gas tank and getting everything out of the way on the left to lift and slide the valve cover out on the left...tdc...stick a feeler gauge in the 2 in and 2 ex....when putting the cover back on, make sure you scrape off all the factory hardened silicone...apply a light layer of new sealant, but little extra on the half moon area before putting the valve cover back on...
if you need to replace the shims, you'll need more information... https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...-valves-38999/

How many miles on bike? I just did valve shims at 9000 miles, on my 07. Previous owner said he'd never done it.
I know how hard it can be to unclog an idle circuit. Try this, remove airbox hose from carb, start motor by pushing if that works, rev up the motor then choke the carb with a rag. do this repeatedly and try to keep the motor running. this puts max vacumn on the idle jet circuit and may help unclog it.
good luck

I would put a new plug in it. If that don't work, check your carb float level, it may be set way low and not picking up fuel on the jets. I doubt you have enough miles on it to require a valve reshim, but try the easy stuff first!
