Does anyone know what the 2009 KLX250S is supposed to get for gas mileage? I got mine about 1 week ago....been on the street only. I plan on some trails in the future though.

 

First time I filled up I got about 60 miles to the gallon, but that was with a LOT (I'm talking 5+ miles) of idling around the yard at less than 10MPH, all in first gear. I'm gonna top off tomorrow and see what I got thus far... only put an additional 60 or 70 miles on it so probably about the same I'd imagine. Can't believe I've got a vehicle brand new, its like, a new concept to only see 150 miles on the odometer [8D]

 

I got 68 mpg average off the first top off....Urban/Suburban and offroad....Im guessin 70-72 average for my 200lb-azz once broke in with the mix of driving....Ive been doing a good portion of 55-75mph expressway action so Ill see the new average....

Regardless...The mileage is great enough to make everyone that asked to have there jaw hit the floor...

 

My wife and I have put around 1,000 miles on her '09 KLX, and the average mileage since new is 62 mpg. Best tank was 67 mpg and worst was 56 mpg.

I'd guess we've done about 70% pavement (55-65 mph), 25% gravel, and 5% off-road.

 

Thanks for the info people. I got 75 miles (50 mpg) out of 1st tank of gas....but I don't think it was full as dealer said.

 

i get ruffly around 70mpg takin it easy aand about 60 all in it,,

I topped off this morning before taking off, 68 miles to the gallon, probably 90% pavement/gravel/dirt roads, some putt-putt riding around the yard. Will be interested with my next fill-up because I got a lot more aggressive on the gas, and I made a short (2 mile) run of 60 MPH down the highway.
