My new bike has been running problem free now since my last post. haha when I got the recal notice, i received 3 of them because I've had 3 different bikes in my name. I still only have about 1000 miles on it now.

I have noticed once in a while when I come to a stop sign, that when I have shifted all the way down then I poke it into neutral, it will not go back in gear unless I let out the clutch momentarily. It then will go into first normally.
Also, if I am stopped clutch in, in first gear, and I want to go in to neutral I just shift up to second, the gear box will not go all the way to second, it just stops at neutral. Not sure if this is intentional design but it is handy.

My '06 KLX250S does this. So did my 1992 Toyota pickup.

Must be a Japanese thang. ;-)

Higgs, Ive had zero problems with mine, except I had to re-route my throttle cables because I didn't like the way they were done originally. My bike seems flawless. Transmission shifts excellent!

my friend told me that happens with new bikes (new tranys).
now I am wondering if that is in fact the case or is there a real problem.
thoughts?

Ive not had that situation with this KLX250s, but have had many bikes that have done the same thing. No big deal. Its sort of like with a car or pickup or roadtractor, you can't seem to get it into or out of gear smoothly. I just would push in the clutch again, and re-try. Same goes for the bikes. Just a fluky thing that happens on occasion. Usually one gets used to these little quirks, and counter them without giving it a second thought.

Yeah man, I downshift when coming to a stop, then I pop it into neutral. I usually hit neutral while Im just about stopped. Sometimes I go to 1st gear if I pass up neutral, then after Ive stopped I pop into neutral. I never sit there in 1st gear with the clutch pulled in while waiting for a light. I drive the same with a car or truck with a standard transmission also.
