I've made a couple of detail changes to the kit. I've received a couple of comments about the toughness of the skin. These are the same alloy and thickness as the wing skin on a Cessna single engine aircraft. Our welders are aircraft certified. If a buyer wishes, for a very reasonable price, I can add a stainless tube "protection bar" located along the outer skin.
I've stood on these tanks. They are that tough.

Thanks,
Bake

You know what's weird, is that it looks like you should be able to get 2 gallons in that tank.

Did I miss a picture where it was mounted on a 2006?

I guess, maybe? But here's a few to recap, then.

Well, here it is on my loaded down '07, same as. I don't have a pic of Bill's wife JoAnn's bike, her's is an '06, but I can get one easy enough.

Had a dealer in California call me today about one, for a customer buying an '09 and he already knew the bike didn't have any range. I've got one going to Australia soon, and one in California, both '07's. Had a customer in today getting his 351 kit installed, he had an '09 with 350 miles. Bill put a carb and a 2Bros. pipe on there, using the quiet tip, and I thought it sounded damn good, not near as loud as my former HMF.

I've added a new check valve in the system, price has now stabilized at $255. Material and other vendors had me in hoops there for awhile.
And there's a major rework of my website in a few weeks.

Bake, just a suggestion. How about putting the link to your website in your signature?

Default thanks

I've never done much with signatures, some forums don't allow any advertising in that way. Thanks for the opportunity, Deej. I hope this version fits the forum parameters.

Default Revision A

The first update of the tanks will be the addition of a 3/4" O.D., thickwall aluminum tube welded directly along the outside panel of the tank. Probably extending to near the number plate. I don't think it will help the looks much, lol, but if there was to be any heavy impact, the bar will take the hit. The skin of the tank is quite thick; an impact to pierce it would have to be like hitting it with an ax, as opposed to a hammer, which would just dent it. But I've been asked to provide such a thing, and I don't feel the need for a completely separate crash bar arrangement, as this would make the system way more expensive. This update won't raise the price. My welder returns from deer hunting on Dec 1st, so the Rev A tanks will be ready to ship a few days after.

The website is undergoing a total re-build. I did the present one, and I'm not a website builder. I'm a rider, Aerospace toolmaker, designer and fabricator with 32 years experience.

Thanks for your interest.

Here's look at my luggage plate for the KLR650, and the 2.3 gal. tank for that bike. Now, it's on to the DR650 Suzuki.
Thanks

With the no-tools release fasteners.

I've got 2 '09 KLX250 tanks I'll sell for $229.95. ea.
We now know, from "experience" shall I say, that crashing on the left side with this tank on didn't do any damage except scratches. Didn't even deflect the mounting brackets. This tank is as tough as a bashplate. The brackets are the same as the bashplate. All construction is of aircraft grade 6061T6 alloy.
