Iowa your 09 klx is basically the same as the 06 07 klx's with some minor erogos and gearing changes.....that wr is sweet.....but it should be for the same price as a ktm almost. From your previous posts I'm not sure you would like the wrseatheight and the suspension is way solid or stiff ..... even for my 170 lbs....very nice bike.
so now the '09 is the same bike as the '06 and '07? last fall it was way different and not as off-road worthy as most said. now it's the same? I can't figure you guys out.
it's way more different than the same. take aCLOSE look at one- the rear shock is different, different linkage, different forks/springs, different wheelset, tank, controls, gauges, handlebars, footpeg position, swingarm, brakes, radiators, seat, bodywork, lighting, carb components, grips.Like I said, the only true thing the the bikes share is the frame and the engine. Thetrannyhad more than just tweaked gear ratios- they beefed it up so it would shift better and is quite noticeable as I've mentioned.

WTF?
I thought this was a post about the Yamaha WR250R?

My mistake.
it was of course another opportunity for Mr Iowa to blow his own trumpet.

Mr Iowa, you have the greatest motorcycle ever made.
No i mean it.
Everything else is plain rubbish.
It's the mostest, bestest, badest, fastest, meanest, bike EVER.
Gee I wish I was you.

We are not worthy, we are not worthy...............................

A mentioned before. IMO there will be very little interest in that model down here.
$10,000 for the WR250R versus $$6200 for a KLX250H7 or $7000 for a KL250S (09.)
No brainer.
You can get one of these for the same price as the WR250R.

As used by "The Knighter," to success in the 2007 US Grand National Cross Country series.[sm=americanasmiley.gif]
I know what I'd rather spend 10 LARGE on.[sm=wakeup.gif]

Ok one thing we don't want the forum to turn into, is that the 09 is better then the 06 or 07 or visa versa. This needs to stop right now. Sharing comparisons between the models is one thing, but lets not get into a pissing match over the bikes we all love, no matter what year it is. I mean some guy could come onhere with an old KLX or KLR and we should respect him the same as the guy that just bought the 09 as his first bike. IG lets back it down a notch, there is more than one way to say something. If you are "tired" of the same questions, then don't answer them. Tact is described sometimes as telling someone where to go and they look forward to the trip. You seem to consistently keep coming off as condescending and that causes a lot of the member (some we have lost) to spend less and less time here. We can't have that. Yes we have a search button, but it doesn't always work like we think it should. And the rest of you monkeys, if you see something that you don't agree with, try to let it go. (dang it when re the 3 other mods going to get their wings?) Now lets get back on the topic at hand and have fun. pleeeeaaaaaaaaaase????[8D]

Heh Gavin,

I'm hearing you. The Kato no doubt a better bike.

But I suspect the Yami is a bit more suited to highway use and, and this is the big one, maintanence?
The Yami is service at 10k and valves at 40k.
That is why I think this bike is a sign of trail bikes to come.
The Kato is virtually a race bike with lights.

And where can you get a Kato for $10k?
Put me down for one.
I thought they were closer to $12k for the EXC-F

The 300 has the electric leg but costs$11,700.
The 200 doesn't have it.
The 250 however has it as an option. 250 costs $10,600.
Here's all three.

Got $11,000 to spare. 08 250EXC with electric leg and 21 litre tank. Sorted.
