I can't be sure, but it may be one of those road book type of deals like they use in rally type events...like the Dakar. I'm not sure what all is in them, but some of them are pretty high tech...gps based and other neat stuff. I may be totally wrong, because other than the headlight, there's not much on that bike that really shouts rally...especially the stock 1.9 gallon fuel tank.
When I raced enduros, we had route charts with mileage, speed averages, and other critical race info and points on the course, along with a good clock. Later we even had computers that gave you "go faster" or "go slower" commands to stay on time. That's when enduros were actually time keeping events. Some rally stuff is different than that and requires more elaborate data.
