2007 KLX-250s Butt Plug Removal
Does the butt plug mod require cutting on the 2007's? It seems like you could just unscrew it on the older models. I read where you could get as much as 5 hp gain by removing it.

I plan to fill in the hole with an end piece[sm=icon_quiet.gif][sm=icon_rofl.gif]. It seems to work ok.

Run a 1/2" drill bit up the muffler into the first baffle plate or if your feeling brave go through the second baffle.

Yep! I used a 1/2" drill bit to go through the first baffle, then a 3/8" to go through the second. You're going to need a 12" long (3/8") drill bit to get into the second baffle - I got mine at ACE Hardware, I think it cost me around $17. It sounded and performed a little bit better than stock. I like the sound and the performance gain of my HMF better though. Once you get bitten by the "bug", there's no stopping - so get a couple of extra credit cards and go for it - I can also recommend a good, cheap bankruptcy lawyer!
