Default 2007 Klx 250 forks won't rebound

Does anybody have the width of their speedo gear for an older klx250? I think the PO of this bike just threw a random one on & my spacing is off so my forks are binding and not rebounding.

I don't even know what you would measure, it sits in a slot & on the other side is a spacer. Once the shop guy was looking at my disk which was really close to the brake housing and took it all apart and shaved the spacer down so it would clear more.
I would take your front wheel off, put the axle in without the wheel & tighten it slowly while measuring the distance between the front fork legs high and low. When they are the same, measure the distance between the facings at the axle. Subtract the wheel parts and you have the spacing.
