Picked up an "newzed" 06 with 322 miles on it for $2500 last week. This is a steal I realize, but I thought I'd throw it out there. There are expensive used ones and inexpensive. It all depends on the local market, luck, and buyer patience. $2500! The tires still have the nipples and seams on them!
Cheers

The west coast is notoriously stiff on bike prices and it has nothing to do with housing prices or other economic indices. For whatever reason, the same is true of RV prices -- the further west you get, the lower the discounts get. Anyone (dealer or private party) selling a motorcycle in WA should expect to get more money than someone in IA, CO, NY, etc.
The bottom line is that the market for a brand new 2007 is in the $4,300 +/- $100 ballpark. That's OTD before taxes and registration. You can't price a stock used bike higher than new MSRP. It just doesn't play. With that said, I'm not going to call the OP a "fool" for trying it. Also, the fact that someone somewhere got a new bike for $3,500 doesn't mean that that's the new market price -- it looks like an outlier to me. The market price for a new bike is still in the mid $4,000 range. In WA, it's not unreasonable to expect $4,000 from an ultra-low miles bike. It may take him a while to find a buyer and, obviously, it would be easier/faster to sell it the lower he sets the price.
