2006 klx vs newer klx
#11
I have an '07 that I bought new in Oct '07. I'm with Deej... I freekin love this thing, and will never sell it. When I bought it, I knew that Kawasaki would be introducing the '09 model soon, but when I saw pictures of the new model and read that it had less suspension travel, I went and picked up the '07. I like the 'retro' styling, it reminds me of the old KDX's that I always thought were so cool. Anyhow, I think you would be happy with either version, the differences are fairly minor.

I have an '09 and have not had any problems at all with it. It gets beat pretty regularly and the suspension is not leaking. i got the 09 because it was closer to the ground for my short legs. I love this bike.....

[QUOTE=CousinLarry;454022]Also his bottoms out a lot easier, I took it off a small jump and almost flew off the bike.

Sounds like your buddy needs to adjust his suspension.
My '09 (new) was just about as mushy as it could possibly be! Factory settings are stupid - bottoming it out was easy, and touching the front brake sent you into a major front-end dive.
I took mine from the factory 16 clicks (it was 12, or 16, or something like that... don't remember exactly), to 4 clicks (which is perfect for me). I'd have to jump off a 10-foot cliff to bottom it now. Of course - if you're riding it like that, you need something other than a KLX250.
