Default 2006 KLX 250 no electrical at all?

Hi I just bought a 2006 klx 250s and it was riding great, everything worked. I put it away overnight, took my keys out and left it. The next day I wanted to ride so I put my keys in the ignition, turned it to on, and nothing happened. No headlight, no gauge cluster lights, nothing at all. The starter button doesn't work, along with any other electrical part on my bike. It's got a newer battery, the bike has 5400 miles on it and is in good condition, so i'm assuming its some dumb ground or electrical connection... I have no idea though, any ideas?

Did you verify the battery is good ? I've had them up and die all of a sudden sometimes.

If the battery is still good, I would start checking all the fuses underneath the seat.

I would start at the beginning, charge the battery, it probably needs replacement. It's newer than what?

Well I feel dumb for saying this but when I bought the bike the guy said it was newer... I’m kind of doubting the accuracy of that so I’ll check that. However I did put a charger on it and tried to jump the bike though but it didn’t work. The fuses are good too

If the battery is bad, charging will not help. I call it's one of 2 issues:
1. battery
2. kill button

So I put a jump pack on the battery and set it to start, and nothing happened still, would a bad battery cause that to not work? And also wouldn’t the kill switch going bad just stop the bike from running yet allow the lights and other electronics to run? I’m just thinking out loud, I don’t have much experience with the electrical part of these machines

If your battery is shorted, it will suck the life out of a jumper battery.
#2, your probably right.

A little update, I used a voltage reader to check the wiring, and I wasn’t getting any power through the starter solenoid, so I opened it up and sure enough it was corroded as a mf. I cleaned it out and the bike started working again! I ride it to my buddy’s and turn it off. I go to leave, turn the keys into the on position, and again nothing happens! A bump start was in order, so I did that and was able to ride it home. Wtf!

Sounds like you have a problem, just keep at it, you'll get it done. I would open up all your connections and clean/lube/reconnect. Sounds like your bike has been in some deep water or something.
